Costuming supplies for the bold, the nerdy, and the wildly creative

The Selvage Yard is a specialty costuming shop in Orem, Utah, built for cosplayers, dancers, theatre artists, historical costumers, sewists, makers, and anyone working on something wonderfully specific.

Whether you’re hand-stoning a ballroom gown, recreating something from another century, sewing costumes for a production, building armor for your next con, or hot-gluing EVA foam at 2 a.m. while questioning every decision that brought you here - we’re here for it.

Built by costumers, for costumers.

It took us a little longer than we originally planned (turns out measuring, organizing, and listing an entire store takes a minute), but you can officially shop The Selvage Yard online!

We’re starting with fabrics and will be adding more of our in-store inventory as the week progresses.

Right now, the website only shows a portion of what you’ll find inside the shop - so if you don’t see what you’re looking for online yet, that definitely doesn’t mean we don’t have it. There is a very real chance it is sitting on a shelf three feet away from us waiting patiently for its turn in front of the camera.

And yes, we’re working on it.

There’s a lot more waiting for you in the shop.

When we opened our doors for our soft launch, we knew the store was only the beginning.

Since then, our inventory has nearly tripled - and somehow we keep finding more places to put things.

Come browse fabrics, trims, notions, embellishments, costuming supplies, and all sorts of wonderfully unique things that are much harder to find at your average craft store. We’re constantly bringing in new inventory and paying attention to what the people actually using these materials wish they could find locally.

So if you need something weirdly specific?

Please ask us.

Seriously! We genuinely love hearing what people are working on, what they’re struggling to source, and what they wish somebody around here would just carry already.

Mildly unhinged wishlists are always welcome.
